Reconceptualizing something in print form—in this case a magazine—into a website (and iPad app) is something I really enjoy: translating the look and feel, taking apart the organization and putting back together in a form optimized for the medium.
CAPITAL ACUMEN WEBSITE INTERACTIVE CHART (simulated interface)
I like the bold, stylized imagery. The piece was interactive so that the user could take their time reading the information before clicking NEXT and moving through the story.
XFINITY (COMCAST) MICROSITE | HOME PAGE
This site was tied to a direct mail campaign, so we borrowed the graphic elements (dotted lines, circles, arrow styles) while adding some animation and interactive spice.
XFINITY (COMCAST) MICROSITE | ARTICLE PAGE
This article showed how the Xfinity X1 suite of apps can be used by a whole family throughout a day. The hero image depicts night falling on the neighborhood while the slideshow below goes through each family member using the service over the course of the day.

GOLD'S GYM EMAIL NEWSLETTER
I did a bunch of iterations of this e-newletter over the years. This email was like a mini-magazine, with a big, vibrant feature story. I also designed the PULSE logo.
GOLD'S GYM EMAIL NEWSLETTER
This version of the member newsletter gave equal weight to all three features, and allowed me to have some conceptual fun with graphics, as in the menacing scale in the middle.
AUTHOR WEBSITE HOME PAGEPollyshulman.com(1/2)
Polly’s books are magical and whimsical YA and Middle Grade novels, so I gave the site a fun and colorful look, keeping the interface simple and allowing multiple ways in: click on a book in the nav dropdown, the hero rotator, or in the book section all take you to that page.
AUTHOR WEBSITE HOME PAGEPollyshulman.com(2/2)
I love the gorgeous spread of books from all over the world. This page also lets the reader delve into the description of the trilogy and the stand-alone romance.
ELEVATOR MOODS FILM WEBSITE(simulated interface)
We intertwined imagery from both film and elevator design: press a button and the film countdown begins, a rising cab is the progress bar, from this skyline you choose your “Narrative Building,” etc. Webby Award, winner, invited to Sundance Interactive.
